Young duo win National Titles
There was National title delight for county girls Lucy Garner and Charlotte Broughton at British Cycling's youth circuit-race championships at London's Hogg Hill.
The Leicestershire Road Club riders claimed the under-16 and under-12 titles respectively with tremendous rides on a twisting circuit which featured a couple of testing climbs.

The Leicestershire Road Club riders claimed the under-16 and under-12 titles respectively with tremendous rides on a twisting circuit which featured a couple of testing climbs.
The under-16 girls rode a cautious race and stayed together for 14 of the 16 laps. Garner then increased the pace and only three of her rivals were able to respond.
The quartet then faced a sprint finish and it was Garner who had the strength and speed to take the national champion's jersey.
In contrast, Broughton attacked from the start in the under-12 category. She had plenty of company for the first few laps but, once she opened a gap, there was no doubt about the outcome.
The lead increased lap by and lap and, by the finishing line, the Road Club prospect was more than a minute ahead of her rivals.
There was no such good fortune for Grace Garner in the under-14 race. She was well placed at the front of the bunch going into the second half of the race when she unshipped her chain and lost touch with the leaders.
Sam Broughton's hopes of a medal in the boys' under-16 were also wrecked by mechanical woes. He, too, was riding strongly towards the front until he suffered a puncture three laps from the finish and his challenge was ended.
