Founded in 1909, Leicestershire Road Club mixes history with ongoing success at National and International levels. We encourage all forms of cycling, irrespective of age, sex, race or ability. We actively promote cyclo-cross and mountain-biking, including regular off-road sessions delivered by our coaches.
We require that racing members belong to either British Cycling, or the Cyclists Touring Club, both of which provide representation and insurance benefits. The club is affiliated to British Cycling, Cycling Time Trials, Cyclists Touring Club, the British Schools Cycling Association and other regional and local cycling organizations.
The Club actively promotes several events, at varying distances both on and off-road.
The quality of the club was recognised in 2005 by becoming accepted as a Community Amateur Sports Club (registration number CH0 2952) and by achieving Sport England Clubmark status in 2008. This is the highest level of quality recognition for an amateur sports club whatever its sporting interest.
The club has it's own Clubroom, built in 1978 by it's members, with a kitchen, toilets, indoor cycling equipment and a pool table.
